Education Consultant An excellent full time opportunity for a corporate trainer is available with New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Washington, D.C. New Horizons Computer Learning Centers are the world's largest IT training company. New Horizons offers a variety of professional training choices ranging from hands-on instructor-led classes to web-based training and self-paced computer-based training. New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Washington D.C., an independently owned and operated New Horizons franchise, has been providing high-quality computer training to individuals, businesses and other organizations in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area since 1992. We are looking for an instructor to deliver first class software training and soft skills classes. Local travel required. Classes are delivered at our Tysons Corner and downtown Washington facilities and other local sites. Customers include thousands of businesses and government agencies in metropolitan Washington, D.C. Successful candidates must have strong technical skills, excellent presentation skills, people skills, a professional presence, and enjoy teaching. Key Responsibilities Conduct training courses. This involves setup and configuring necessary equipment and networks to support training courses. Consult with the functional organization to develop specifications for content of courses. Instruct participants in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions. Prepare training materials from documentation, client service requirements or software documentation. Knowledge & Skills we are looking for: Excellent verbal and written skills required with the proven ability to successfully deliver and communicate complex technical training. Strong customer-service orientation Ability to thrive under pressure within a fast-paced environment College Degree Knowledge of MS Office and related presentation products Physical Demands and Work Environment Job may be performed in training rooms at New Horizons, onsite at customer facilities, or in other office environments. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, travel via automobile and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. The Consumer Education Consultant will promote information technology career training programs to consumer students and veterans. From their military service veterans earn GI Bill education benefits that will typically pay 100% of their training program cost. Our IT career training program includes four expertly-taught five-day classes delivered from 9am to 5pm in our classrooms over a three month period. This is an inside sales position. Successful consultants are expected to make 60+ telephone calls per day and have one face-to-face meeting daily. Close rates from these meetings are high. Leads come primarily from online resume databases. New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Washington, D.C. has trained thousands and thousands of corporate employees since 1992, and is approved by the Veterans Administration to provide veterans education benefits. Specific responsibilities include: Enrollment activities Responsible for making 60+ outbound contacts per day on leads and follow-ups. Responsible for scheduling 5 initial appointments per week with potential career training students. Manage all face to face meetings with potential career training students. Serve as primary point of contact and maintain relationships with local workforce agencies in assigned territory. Deliver regular Career Event presentations. Responsible for follow the lead management guidelines. Responsible for updating and maintaining all opportunities in CRM. Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual enrollment performance goals. Student Support activities Manage initial student registration and scheduling into classes. Serve as secondary level of support for student concerns or questions. Responsible for understanding and discussing different funding options that are available for potential career training students. Obtain expert product knowledge in all New Horizons educational programs, courses, and learning modalities. Experience and Skills: At least 2-5 years of successful consumer-focused sales experience. Sales experience both in-person and over the phone. Technical recruiting experience preferred. Experience in education or a learning environment is a plus. Prior military experience or affiliation with the military community preferred. Standard Company Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Minimum experience or requirements: The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft Office, MS SharePoint, Web design, and/or Adobe Creative Suite (CS5, CS6 or CC), and a Bachelor's degree. Training experience a plus; however we are willing to train the right candidate.
