This position works under some supervision and performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of heavy duty vehicles, trailers and equipment. Performs related work as assigned by Service Shop Manager and/or Service Shop Coordinator. Must maintain technical knowledge in order to service vehicles within the manufacturer’s established guidelines. Inspect and use all company provided service tools as instructed by supervisor. Ensure proper clean and safe work area Adhere to all safety and PPE rules. Must obtain EPA 609 in first 90 days. Responsibilities Must be able to perform the following service capabilities (including but not limited to): Repair air brake systems Engine repair (Basic) Perform Clutch Adjustment Perform Brake Adjustment Repair cooling systems Perform work on suspensions and steering components Assist other technicians in performing service procedures as determined by supervisor Keep records of work performed, time and materials used by job. Order materials and supplies required for maintenance and repair work Minimum experience or requirements: Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience. Must be able to obtain basic tools Must have basic knowledge of company provided standard service tools and capabilities. Must wear steel toe shoes and company provided uniforms. Must be able to lift 100 pounds. Must be willing to work extra hours (if needed). Must possess a valid driver’s license. Some travel may be required for the company’s annual sales meeting and to the local branches and training classes as needed.
